There are many islands in Europe that offer multiple possibilities for holidays.
The Momondo travel platform drew up a ranking of the best islands in Europe, taking into account different criteria, by analyzing data from 70 islands based on seven categories and 19 factors.
Climate, prices, accessibility, safety in relation to COVID-19 and suitability for children were some of the criteria taken into consideration to reach the top of the best island destinations in Europe.

When it comes to holidays in low season, the Canary Islands, Cyprus and Samos are the most suitable. Madeira is once again present in this ranking, in seventh position. For budget holidays, the top 3 consists of two islands in Turkey, Bozcaada and Gökçeada, and a Portuguese island, Terceira. São Miguel, Santa Maria and Madeira are also in the top 10 of the most affordable island destinations.

Finally, for those looking to get away from it all, the best islands are Estonia (Hiiumaa), UK (Lewis and Harris) and Norway (Lofoten). In this top 10, there are three islands in the Azores: Pico, Flores and São Jorge.
